This week focused on improving the Hack4Mapandan system across multiple areas including admin functionality, event management, attendance tracking, UI/UX refinements, and mobile app development. The main goal was to improve system stability, usability, and data accuracy across modules.
What I Worked On
Admin System Fixes & Attendance Module (H4M)
- Fixed geofencing issue preventing detection of mock locations
- Resolved system errors in attendance calculations, improving accuracy and stability
- Implemented an attendance dashboard with key performance metrics
- Developed a unified activity log for real-time system monitoring
- Debugged and improved overall admin-side system functionality
Table Features & Data Management Improvements
- Implemented pagination, filtering (month and year), and sorting across table pages
- Improved table UI structure and aligned data properly with headers
- Fixed layout issues to enhance readability and consistency
- Added CSV export feature for downloading table data
- Developed “Delete All” functionality with SweetAlert confirmation for secure bulk deletion
- Ensured action buttons (edit/delete) remain fixed and easily accessible
Event Page Improvements
- Fixed navigation and page behavior issues on the Event Page
- Debugged system errors affecting workflow stability
- Improved input validation to prevent incorrect data submission
- Enhanced form validation logic to reduce user errors
- Updated UI components for a cleaner and more user-friendly experience
- Performed testing after changes to ensure no side effects on other modules
- Verified system performance and stability after updates
Flutter App Development & Backend Integration
- Developed core Flutter UI pages (TimeIn, Announcements, Payroll)
- Updated UI styling to match current design standards
- Configured Supabase storage buckets
- Implemented Row Level Security (RLS) policies for data protection
- Set up environment variables for secure configuration
- Integrated notification system for attendance tracking
- Debugged Time In workflow issues
- Improved asset management in storage buckets
What I Learned
- Small backend logic issues (like attendance computation) can significantly affect system trust and accuracy
- Proper validation is critical in preventing bad data from entering the system
- UI structure (especially tables) heavily impacts usability in admin systems
- Security practices like RLS are essential when handling sensitive user data
- Testing after each fix is necessary to avoid breaking connected modules
Impact
- Improved reliability and accuracy of attendance tracking system
- Enhanced admin usability through better table tools and UI fixes
- Increased data safety with confirmation dialogs and secure deletion flows
- Strengthened backend security with Supabase RLS policies
- Improved overall system stability across Event and Admin modules
- Enhanced mobile app foundation with core pages and notification system
Next Week
- Further refine attendance and geofencing accuracy
- Improve performance of admin dashboard queries
- Expand Flutter app features (notifications + payroll enhancements)
- Continue UI consistency improvements across all modules
- Add logging improvements for easier debugging and monitoring
